Inspired by the Japanese film Belle, “Journey” illustrates a red, small girl departing on an adventure into an abstract and unfamiliar world. As the whale provides her with a sense of stability, she is able to explore a kaleidoscope of opportunity.

Safety is never guaranteed for the little creature. The adrenaline of the scurrying mouse is contrasted with the stillness of an ominous predator watching from the darkness. *For a cleaner look, I digitally modified the image so that the paper has been replaced with a uniform beige color.
